The ping pong point systems are divided into two categories: point system for Single players and for Double players (Mix Double included). It may seem difficult to remember these systems when you first play according to them, but as you play for a longer period, they will be stuck in your mind!
Let’s talk about the point system for Single players first. A match is played best 3 of 5 games. To start a game, the first player will serve twice, and then switch to the next player. This will go on and on until the first player who reaches 11 points wins the game. After each game, players will switch sides and the 11 points will start all over, and the first player who wins 3 games first will be declared winner of the match.

You might wonder: what if both players get 10 points in a game? The “deuce” system will then come into play. Each player will be allowed to serve only once and then switch player. This will go on and the winner will be the one who is able to get two points first (e.g. the game will end if the score is 12-10).
That was the point system for Singles. Now, how about Doubles? Very similar to the Singles point system, a match is played 3 of 5 games, and the “deuce” system is still carried out (in this case, 20-20). However, to start a game, the first team (two players) will serve 5 balls instead of 2, and then switch to the next team. This will go on until the first team that reaches 21 points wins the game. After each game, players will again switch sides and the 21 points will start all over.
It is actually not difficult to remember these systems, but it takes time. So, now you can tell your friends that you are familiar with the ping pong point systems. If they ask you about the person who tells you this, tell them about The Ping Pong Guy!
